In today’s episode of Trials & Triumph, it’s all about attitude, again. More importantly, we’re talking about how our attitude and our actions determine how we relate to the stress or fear or anxiety in our lives.
As usual, below you’ll find the resources and quotes that I have mentioned in today’s episode. I hope it leaves you better than it found you and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below, or on social media.
Charles Stanley tells a story from time to time about how someone in his life (I believe his father?) spoke into his life when he was not sure what to do in a situation and he was told:
“If God tells you to run your head through a brick wall, then you just start running and pray he makes a hole!” 🤣 I, like you, know the shows and books and things that I consume or take part in that are not in line with the way that God wants me to live my life. But let’s think about our legacy. If we invest in things that produce good fruit in our lives and spend less time wasting it on things that have no positive return on investment, we will be able to look back and know we did our best to leave a positive mark on the world. Our children or those we love will know that we only desired to be the best version of ourselves.
- We can’t expect to move past the circumstances in life that have us “stuck” if we’re filled with worry and stress.
- We also can’t draw closer to God if we’re spending all of our time focusing on the things that only God can fix.
Sure, we can check something off of our list with a bad attitude, but we can also miss out on what God has in store for us,
If you missed the last episode of Trials & Triumph, check it out to see a little bit more of the context of where this talk about attitude is coming from. It’s been a huge theme in my life, as well as in the lives of people close to me.
