IT’S FINALLY HERE!
As you’ll hear me remind myself from time to time, I have realized that people don’t remember when you tried something new and failed like you think they do, but I’ve had a hard time living that out in my own life the past month or so as I worked so hard to get ready for this moment.
I won’t go into detail about what this past week has been for me, but we will come back around to it in the next few weeks.
So, let’s cut to the chase. I’ve been very anxious and excited for this moment for quite some time and I hope you have, as well. I want to just briefly thank all of you who have read any of my previous blog posts and I hope you’ve been able to read them all because it has been such a blessing to be able to share just a few of the stories from my life and where God has brought me over the past 30+ years. Because of how podcasting works, and because I firmly believe that God has called me to share my story in this way, through podcasting, blogging, writing a book (or two), and maybe eventually speaking engagements, I want to ask a huge favor of you:
This podcast will be available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and many other platforms for you to listen on, and in order for this show to be more easily found, I have to rely on as many people as possible actually listening to the episodes as they air, and writing a one-time review with star rating. All of these metrics determine whether or not I am featured on the homepage of these podcast platforms. I don’t want to be all about ratings or monetization or anything, but I want to at least ask that you consider doing this for me. It would really mean the world to have your outward support of this new journey!

My third story is about death.
When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure — these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
Thank you so much to each of you that have been following this blog, who have already listened to or are getting ready to listen to the first episode of my podcast. I don’t want to come across like I’m being negative, but given that this is my first attempt at podcasting and with my specific set of resources (and waiting until the last minute to record everything), I can assure you that each episode will be better than the previous, from production quality to content quality, and everything in between!
Also, as I’ve mentioned, and I want to ask one more time here, if you would please consider leaving a rating and review for my podcast so that it can help to be spread further into the podcast world and be seen by many more people, I would really appreciate it. There’s actually a delay right now in getting my podcast on iTunes and Google Play Store (should be resolved in a day or two!!), but once that’s done, I’ll update you on Instagram and Facebook… I just ask that you be patient and I will definitely let you know when it’s time! 🙂
